In 2014, the Research Center for Materials Informatics and Genetic Engineering (MIGE) was established at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an. The main research directions of MIGE include:
(1) Development of the core technology of the material genome, namely evolutionary structure prediction, high-throughput calculation, machine learning algorithm and dedicated database construction for new material discovery;
(2) To discover new materials based on material genomes with the goal of shortening the research and development cycle and reducing R&D costs. To realize the transition of the research mode of new materials discovery from “experience-directed” to “data-driven”.
